<p>Questa famiglia ascrive specie morfologicamente eterogenee, con piante arboree ed arbustive nelle aree tropicali ed erbacee in Europa, con portamento generalmente prostrato e fiori molto piccoli. Un aspetto comune di alcune specie è la conformazione delle foglie disposte a verticillo intorno al fusto. I fiori molto piccoli presentano ovario aderente al calice. La corolla ha dei petali isolati tra loro alla base o in un tubo che ha 4 lati, come in genere è il numero degli stami. I frutti, spesso schizocarpi, sono globosi con un infossatura, e spesso avvolti da peli uncinati.</p>

<p>Questa famiglia ascrive specie morfologicamente eterogenee, con piante arboree ed arbustive nelle aree tropicali ed erbacee in Europa, con portamento generalmente prostrato e fiori molto piccoli. Un aspetto comune di alcune specie è la conformazione delle foglie disposte a verticillo intorno al fusto. I fiori molto piccoli presentano ovario aderente al calice. La corolla ha dei petali isolati tra loro alla base o in un tubo che ha 4 lati, come in genere è il numero degli stami. I frutti, spesso schizocarpi, sono globosi con un infossatura, e spesso avvolti da peli uncinati.</p>

Questa famiglia ascrive specie morfologicamente eterogenee, con piante arboree ed arbustive nelle aree tropicali ed erbacee in Europa, con portamento generalmente prostrato e fiori molto piccoli. Un aspetto comune di alcune specie è la conformazione delle foglie disposte a verticillo intorno al fusto. I fiori molto piccoli presentano ovario aderente al calice. La corolla ha dei petali isolati tra loro alla base o in un tubo che ha 4 lati, come in genere è il numero degli stami. I frutti, spesso schizocarpi, sono globosi con un infossatura, e spesso avvolti da peli uncinati.
